Why verified profiles get shortlisted first
When a company hires remotely, it takes a leap of faith. The hiring manager has never sat across a desk from you. They cannot walk past your old office or ask around about your work. All they have is a profile on a screen — and they know screens can be made to say anything.
What clients are actually afraid of
When companies hire remote staff, the same two worries tend to come up. The first is blunt: is this person real? Is the photo genuine, is the name genuine, and will the person who interviews be the person who does the work?
The second is quieter: is the CV true? Did they really hold that role for three years? Does that qualification exist? Anyone can type anything into a CV, and hiring managers know it.
Neither worry is an insult to you. It is simply the gap that distance creates. The professionals who get shortlisted first are the ones who close that gap before the client even has to ask.
Five checks that close the gap
Every PH Talents profile goes through five checks before it reaches a client:
- Government ID with a selfie liveness check
- NBI clearance
- PRC or TESDA registry checks, where relevant to your profession
- Employment history corroborated with documents
- Two professional references, contacted through their company
Together they answer both fears. The ID and liveness check settles "is this person real". The rest settle "is the CV true".
The evidence ladder
Behind the checks sits a simple idea: the evidence ladder. Every claim on your profile sits on one of four rungs — self-declared, then backed by a certificate, then confirmed by an employer, then corroborated by a government record. The higher a claim sits, the more weight it carries. Verification is simply the work of moving your claims up the ladder.
What each step asks of you
The ID check: done on your phone
You do this on your phone. Photograph your government ID, take a short selfie so the system can confirm you are a live person, and you are done — the check itself is instant. The technology is bank-grade, and a human confirms every result — no one is judged by a machine alone.
NBI clearance
You provide your NBI clearance, a document many Filipino professionals have requested before and know how to obtain.
Registry checks
If your profession is registered with the PRC, or your training with TESDA, we check the registry ourselves. You just give us the details.
Employment history
You upload your Certificates of Employment. To corroborate further, you show your own SSS record on a call — your screen, your login, your control. We never ask for passwords or OTPs, and you should be wary of anyone who does.
References
You name two professional referees, and we contact them through their company rather than a personal number, so clients know the reference is genuine. One firm rule: we never contact your current employer without your consent. Your job search stays private.
Why verification pays off
Verified profiles are shortlisted first. When a client briefs us on a role, the profiles that have climbed the ladder go to the top of the list — not because unverified talents are less capable, but because the client's two fears are already answered. Your skills get judged on their merits instead of being discounted by doubt.
How to climb the ladder faster
- Upload your CV first. It auto-fills your roles, education and skills; you just check and confirm.
- Do the ID check straight away. It happens on your phone and the check itself is instant.
- Apply for your NBI clearance early if you do not hold a current one — obtaining a fresh clearance can take time.
- Gather your COEs now. A quick email to a former HR department is easier before you are waiting on the document.
- Choose referees from previous companies and let them know a call may come.
- Add your BIR registration if you have one. It is optional and never required, but it is one more confirmed fact on your profile.
None of this costs you anything
Joining, verification and matching are all free for talent. That is not a promotion — UK law prohibits agencies in our position from charging work-seekers. It is a legal rule, not just our policy. If any agency asks you to pay to be put forward for work, treat it as a warning sign.
