When the fee falls due
When you accept a candidate. Not when you enquire, not when you post a role, and not when you meet somebody.
Meeting candidates costs nothing. You can ask to speak to anyone we put forward, have the conversation, and walk away. Nothing is invoiced and no commitment is made. That is not a goodwill gesture, it is how the product works: asking to meet someone is a separate step from accepting them.
The fee is calculated on the first-year pay you agree with the professional. If you agree a monthly rate, that is the monthly rate multiplied by twelve.
What that looks like
An illustration, not a quote, because your figure depends entirely on the rate you agree with the person you hire.
| If the agreed pay is | Placement at 25% | With the care plan at 15% |
|---|---|---|
| £1,200 a month (£14,400 a year) | £3,600 once | £2,160 once, plus £135 a month |
We are not going to publish a table of what Filipino professionals earn by role. Rates are agreed between you and the person you hire, they vary widely with experience, and any average we printed here would be a guess dressed up as data. Our guide to what hiring actually costs explains how to think about the whole number rather than just our part of it.
What we never charge
- No retainer
- No setup or onboarding fee
- No platform or subscription fee to browse or receive candidates
- No deposit
- Nothing at all before you hire someone
And we never charge the professional. Not a joining fee, not a processing fee, and not a cut of what they earn. UK law does not allow a work-finding service to charge a work seeker, and we would not want to anyway. It is written into our talent terms, so it is a promise you can hold us to rather than a claim on a page.
What you pay the professional
You pay them directly, at a rate you agree with them, on whatever schedule the two of you set. We are never in that chain. We do not hold your money, we do not hold theirs, and we never take a percentage of their pay.
That is unusual enough to be worth stating plainly, because most offshore staffing companies do the opposite: they employ the person, bill you a marked-up monthly rate, and the difference is their margin, which you never see. We are an introduction agency. You see exactly what we charge, and it is on this page.
How to actually pay someone in the Philippines covers the mechanics, and marketplace, EOR or agency explains why the three models cost such different amounts.
Tax, VAT and IR35
Our fee is a service supplied by a UK company to a UK company, so normal UK VAT rules apply to it and there is no reverse charge on our invoice.
What you pay the professional is a different question, and one worth understanding before you start. The short version is that the off-payroll rules do not reach someone who is neither UK resident nor working in the UK, and that buying services from overseas has a VAT consequence people frequently miss. Both are covered properly in does IR35 apply to a Filipino virtual assistant and the VAT reverse charge on overseas contractors.
Common questions
When do I actually pay you?
When you accept a candidate. Posting a role, receiving candidates and meeting them all cost nothing. The invoice is raised at the point you say yes to someone.
Does it cost anything to interview someone?
No. Asking to meet a candidate is a separate step from accepting them, and it raises no invoice and commits you to nothing.
How is the fee calculated?
As a percentage of the first-year pay you agree with the professional. If you agree a monthly rate, that is the monthly figure multiplied by twelve. At 25%, an agreed £1,200 a month works out at £3,600 once.
What is the care plan?
It lowers the placement fee from 25% to 15% and costs £135 per talent per month, with a three month minimum and monthly after that. While it runs, a replacement is in front of you within 10 working days if a placement does not work out, and we keep the person's identity, references and government registrations verified and current rather than checking them once and forgetting.
What if a hire does not work out?
Every placement carries a six-month replacement guarantee: if it does not work out in that time, we introduce a verified replacement without charging another placement fee. On the care plan, the replacement is in front of you within 10 working days.
Do you charge the professional anything?
Never. No joining fee, no processing fee, and no cut of their pay. UK law does not permit charging a work seeker for finding them work, and it is written into our talent terms.
Do I pay you the salary as well?
No. You pay the professional directly at the rate you agree with them. We are never in the payment chain and we do not take a percentage of their pay. Our fee is separate and is the only thing you pay us.
Is there VAT on your fee?
Our fee is a service from one UK company to another, so normal UK VAT rules apply and there is no reverse charge on our invoice. What you pay the professional overseas is a separate question, and our VAT guide covers it.
Tell us about the role and we will come back to you with verified people who fit. Meeting them costs nothing, and there is nothing to pay unless you hire.
